Business Unit Director Oncology

The Business Unit Director Oncology is a key position within the Swiss organization leading a cross functional business unit on a country-wide level, heavily involved at broader & more global level and is reporting directly to the General Manager Switzerland.

In order to enable success in the role, key responsibilities will include:

 Overseeing and supervising Sales Force as well as the Marketing team

 Managing Business Unit's budget as well as owning profit and loss responsibility for more than one brand

 Developing and communicating a compelling vision for the sales and marketing team

 Leading commercialization of product portfolio across the therapeutic areas

 Optimizing business unit performance through superior implementation and execution of company Marketing and Sales Force Effectiveness programs

 Developing systematic approach to monitor, measure and track the sales and marketing projects and business performance

 Establishing appropriate budget goals aligned with external marketplace and internal strategy

 Ensuring agreed regional brand/ disease areas strategies are implemented flawlessly


As the successful candidate your qualifications & experience will ideally include the following:

 Bachelor's degree or equivalency is required, Graduate degree in Business or undergraduate coursework in Business is desirable

 Strong scientific background

 Previous experience within Oncology or any other specialty care disease

 In-depth knowledge of local pharmaceutical market, healthcare environment and competitive forces

 Solid experience in multiple functions such as: Marketing (must have solid foundation), Sales, Market Access

 Experience of developing both strategic and marketing plans, together with tactical implementation of such

 Strong knowledge of financial principles and how to manage budgets

 Proven experience in working within a matrix organization in a commercial environment and managing a highly visible strategic product, business or major project

 Fluency in English and German (written and oral)
