PhD MD or MD/PhD with substantial postdoctoral experience

Proven experience in IBD and neurogastroenterology acquired in academia or industry

Experience in translational research in IBD both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease

Interest in applying systems approaches to address phenotype/genotype associations in both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease

Ability to investigate in an integrated pre-clinical and translational research program defined mechanisms that regulate the maintenance of the gut mucosal barrier and microbiota

Proven track record of ability to develop experimental strategies critically review results synthesize key messages and formulate hypotheses

Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple projects and manage multiple tasks

The objective of Philip Morris International Inc PMI 's R D team is to develop and assess products with the potential to reduce the risks of smoking-related diseases. This project is at the core of our business our aim is that one day all adult smokers who otherwise wouldn't quit will switch to what we call reduced-risk products or RRPs . As a Translational research scientists- IBD you will

Support the development and maintenance of a portfolio of translational research opportunities in IBD

Dedicate your expertise to accelerate the pace of translational work and streamline study design and data analysis approaches

Apply you expertise in microbiome and metagenomics investigations

Contribute to the research goals means and needs for exploring the therapeutic use of biologically active substances including those derived from tobacco for applications in the therapeutic area of ulcerative colitis

Author study-related documents as well as manuscripts for publications

Prepare data and other materials for internal presentation at R D and company-wide events as required. Represent PMI R D externally at scientific events and conferences
