To further strengthen our Product Line Sensors & Conditioners for the Energy market, we are currently looking for a Product Owner.
The Position
As Product Owner you will be accountable to define a vision for new product development projects through a comprehensive product roadmap to meet business objectives. You will be responsible to set and manage new product development project requirements and priorities. You will also oversee all new product development stages including planning, budgeting, risks and opportunities management, and progress status reporting. Finally, you will act as the primary liaison with all new product development stakeholders whether internal (Engineering, Sales, Quality and Operations) or external (customers, suppliers, etc.)

The Position
As Product Owner you will be accountable to define a vision for new product development projects through a comprehensive product roadmap to meet business objectives. You will be responsible to set and manage new product development project requirements and priorities. You will also oversee all new product development stages including planning, budgeting, risks and opportunities management, and progress status reporting. Finally, you will act as the primary liaison with all new product development stakeholders whether internal (Engineering, Sales, Quality and Operations) or external (customers, suppliers, etc.)
The main responsibilities for this role are:
New Product Development Vision
Create a vision and define goals for new product development projects to meet business objectives
Create a comprehensive product roadmap, outlining the vision and goals for the Product Line portfolio offering over time
Ensure full alignment of all stakeholders, both internal (Sales, Engineering, Operations and Quality) and external (customers, suppliers, etc.) when applicable, on the product roadmap
Monitor relevant technology trends and understand current and future market needs
New Product Development Requirements & Priorities Management
Define and manage new product development requirements and priorities through a comprehensive product backlog, based on all stakeholders needs and objectives
Continuously include initiatives to improve product performance and/or reduce product cost
Ensure full alignment of all stakeholders, both internal (Sales, Engineering, Operations and Quality) and external (customers, suppliers, etc.) when applicable, on the new product development requirements and priorities
Define and manage new product development project scope, budget and schedule, according to the set requirements and priorities
Perform project cost estimation and budgeting supported by a consolidated cost breakdown and cost control
Perform assessment to identify project risks and ensure mitigation actions are in place and properly documented
Create and maintain an up-to-date plan and associated risk register, change ledger, and action lists for all new product development projects
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
New Product Development Stages Management
Oversee all new product development stages including planning, budgeting, risks, opportunities management and progress status reporting
Put in place efficient means of tracking project progress against baseline that satisfies the agreed set of milestones and deliverables
Measure and monitor project performance using appropriate systems, tools and KPIs. Track and capture any changes in scope, schedule and cost and communicate for appropriate actions
Report on project progress to all project stakeholders, including any issues critically impacting the project scope, schedule and costs
Ensure that all new product development projects are delivered on-scope, on-time and on-cost
Act as the primary liaison with all new product development stakeholders whether internal (Engineering, Sales, Quality and Operations) or external (customers, suppliers, etc.) to ensure full alignment on the set deliverables at all stages
Lead the cross-functional project teams and engage internal and/or external resources to ensure proper execution of the new product development projects
Ensure smooth transitions with Industrialization for successful entries into service of new products
New Product Development Methodology Continuous Improvement
Define and introduce agile development methodology, processes and/or tools to improve the development team productivity and efficiency, while reducing risks
Your Profile
Bachelor degree in engineering or a related field, Master degree is a plus
5 year experience in product development
Professional certification in project management is an asset
Experience in product management and product launch is an asset
Fluent in English and good command of French (spoken and written)
Experience with agile development methodologies
Experience with MS Project and/or JIRA Software Suite incl. Tempo is an asset
Knowledge in sensors for critical machinery condition monitoring applications is an asset
Natural leadership with ability to influence and defend technical choices
Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills to meet project objectives and deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and lead development team
Good communication and negotiation skills to manage expectations
Ability to take initiatives and make decisions under pressure
Results driven and customer oriented
