Clinical Laboratory Technologist II (100%) (Flow Cytometry Team)

To strengthen our Pharma Services Department in Rolle, Switzerland and to provide specific support for the laboratory following established policies and procedures we are looking for an experienced:

This is a full-time permanent position with a rotating roster that includes Saturday and some Sunday work (compensated). Scheduled shifts will fall within the Neo operating hours 9am – 7:30pm.

As Clinical Laboratory Technologist II, you will mainly:

  • Consistently and independently perform a complex level of clinical laboratory tests proficiently in the department under general supervision, and exercise independent judgment in the specialty assigned (Flow Cytometry, ELISA, multiplex cytokine assays, cell isolation)
  • Be trained and then perform lab testing in disciplines outside of the flow cytometry department including IHC, FISH and Cytogenetics
  • Perform project support duties across methodologies; including but not limited to accessioning, query initiation and resolution, and shipment management
  • Perform flow cytometry analysis of patient samples using compliant cytometry analysis software
  • Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintain accurate and complete records of all testing performed on-site
  • Maintain records that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing, prepare clinical specimens for testing and identify specimen related problems according to established SOP guidelines
  • Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures and accredited analysis software (in line with SOPs), with independent proficiency and performance
  • Review and release test results and follow department’s procedure in reporting critical results to the interpreting physician per department SOP
  • Perform and document quality control (QC) on reagents, equipment and assays, recognize and act on QC failures by consultation or follow-up with the department supervisor or lead technologist regarding courses of action taken to achieve resolution
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
  • Assist the department in ensuring an efficient workflow operation by reporting existing problems, i.e. problems concerning individual cases, tests, equipment and supplies that may cause significant delay on the workflow process to the department lead, supervisor or director
  • Prepare stock solutions, reagents and cocktails used in the laboratory as per established SOPs, test and evaluate them based on standard criteria and document all observed results
  • Ensure accurate tracking and labeling of reagents, solutions, and supplies
  • Maintain laboratory in a clean, functional state, as well as cleaning, performing or scheduling equipment and instrument maintenance/calibration/certification, as required

Your profile

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences
  • At least four (4) years of equivalent experience (high complexity testing) preferred (previous experience in CRO a plus)
  • Significant work experience in Flow Cytometry and laboratory based immunoassays (such as ELISA, multiplex cytokine assays, cell isolation and cryopreservation).
  • Any experience in laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures in Cytogenetics and FISH is highly desirable (otherwise: learning and working opportunity)
  • Solid understanding of general laboratory techniques with emphasis on cell biology or immunology techniques.
  • Solid experience performing flow cytometry analysis
  • Advanced computer skills to accomplish complex tasks
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Minimum advanced level of English (C1-C2)
  • Excellent capacity to work independently and communicate effectively in an international, fast paced team environment
  • Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards
  • Good visual acuity including color perception required
  • High level of professionalism and work ethics
