Essential Functions:

Design & pre-sales phase

  • Participate in RFI and RFP studies for prospective customers
  • Determine and allocate project estimate in relation with Construction and Finance Departments
  • Coordinate with internal teams to facilitate facility planning, budgeting, and scheduling. Construction phase
  • Ensure the successful on time delivery of build-out and retrofit of Data Center infrastructure
  • Supervise medium-to-large projects from conception to completion
  • Ensure large amounts of independent work as well as collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, & finance in both local & global settings
  • Plan, manage, and communicate end-to-end project issues/updates with stakeholders and teams
  • Perform day to day project check-in and update to manage project delivery and quality
  • Maintain schedule and budget until project completion
  • Participate in the selections of trade partners and suppliers
  • Supervise the 3-D coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to installation
  • Handle billings and contract management ; control billings to accounting for timely payment in relation with the Finance Department
  • Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution
  • Monitor, document and report on all phases of planning and construction on structure, electrical, mechanical, fire suppression, security and building controls. Commissioning
  • Direct and manage the commissioning process (level 1 through level 5) on the project inclusive of the startup plan, commissioning schedule and functional testing
  • Participate in factory witness testing Hand-Over
  • Lead all activities required in the project closeout inclusive of operations and maintenance manuals, model turn over, and training
  • Coordinate the update and maintain all facilities owned site drawings until site project delivery Continuous improvement :
  • Gather and provide feedback on lessons learned, best practices, and innovations on process/procedures and tools to improve efficiencies and productivity
  • Enhance strong working relationships with customers
  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data centre activities
  • Drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities
  • Suggest, document, and implement SafeHost policies to gain efficiencies.
  • Work with other departments to help facilitate and streamline inter-departmental procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Educations:

  • Associates or Bachelors in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical trades
  • Operating engineering licenses such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
  • Stationary Engineering or Building Engineering License
  • Proven experience as project engineer in a data center (5 years)
  • Good understanding of security standards
  • Demonstrable ability to construction project and adheres to deadlines
  • Well-organized and flexible with a service-oriented approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyse, and interpret complex documents. Ability to suggest and recommend high-qualified technical solutions.
  • High skills with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Outlook, and intranet/internet. Working knowledge of architectural, electrical and mechanical systems. Working knowledge of project management.
  • You speak fluently French, English and German with the ability to read and write in the other language. German is mandatory.
  • On-duty service required
  • Driver's license is required
