Picarro is looking for a seasoned, high-energy, and driven Director of Sales & Client Engagement for its Energy Business to support various regions in EMEA, with strong knowledge of strategic sales and experience within the natural gas utilities industry.  You will be responsible for supporting sales activities for Picarro’s Advanced Asset Management Solution including market competitiveness and business development activities.

Director Sales & Client Engagement

Picarro is looking for a seasoned, high-energy, and driven Director of Sales & Client Engagement for its Energy Business to support various regions in EMEA, with strong knowledge of strategic sales and experience within the natural gas utilities industry.  You will be responsible for supporting sales activities for Picarro’s Advanced Asset Management Solution including market competitiveness and business development activities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the EMEA regional sales plan.
  • Be accountable for the assigned revenues and bookings for the EMEA region and accurately report forecasts and achievements to management.
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and engage with Picarro customers and prospects to generate new business (Target audience, attend conferences and seminars, Visit and meet customers, organize field trials etc.).
  • Develop the Go-To-Market strategy in collaboration with business development, balancing Picarro products with national regulatory environment and customer’s specific needs.
  • Support development of key stakeholder engagement strategies including regulators, environmental NGOs, insurance providers and investors to enable business growth.
  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful market penetration.
  • Identify partner companies in remote or inaccessible regions to meet the operational requirements of our customers (direct, service, field service, etc.).
  • Support a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction for the existing and prospect assigned accounts.
  • Compile information for the assigned customer accounts and work cross-functionally as required to keep all parties informed of sales activities, concerns, and wins.
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting for prospect accounts.
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS or Master / MBA degree and at least three years sales experience and a minimum of five years’ experience working in related industries (Gas/Energy/Utilities)
  • A proven track record of success in strategic sales (targeting large utilities and gas companies)
  • Strong understanding of public utilities commission policies and procedures
  • Experience engaging in service offering including digital subscription models, service engagements or innovative go to market scenarios.
  • Experience with the digitalization of the energy sector and “Big Data” analytics tools.
  • Outstanding ability to develop strong customer relations throughout a targeted customer’s organization (from individual contributors to Executives).
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with customers and partners.
  • Keen understanding and appreciation of selling into large enterprise customers with traditionally long sales cycles and resistance to change.
  • Ability to assimilate technical information quickly and to fully understand and appreciate Picarro product’s unique differential advantage.
Desired Language
  • English: full proficiency level written and oral – REQUIRED.
  • German: excellent level written and oral – Strong Asset.
  • Spanish/Italian/Dutch: excellent level written and oral – Asset.
  • French: good level written and oral.
