Position Summary

Our Research & Development center in Orbe / Switzerland develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging in the areas of Dairy. The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Dairy plans and develops Innovation & Renovation pipelines to support growth and profitability of our Dairy business via a consumer centric approach. It ensures scientific, technological and manufacturing excellence through the development of the right competences.

As Senior Quality Specialist, you will lead the quality support for two NPTC Dairy pipelines, Powdered and Ready To Drink Cocoa & Malt Beverages (Nesquik / Nescau) and other products. You will lead expertise (e.g. Food Safety, HACCP, QMS, Auditing, Hygiene, Pest Control, Sensory, Thermal Processing, etc.) to support process mastership and new product development. You will also be the specialist for Cocoa powder from the Quality side for the Nestle group, working in close partnership with the Nestlé Ingredient Expert for ensuring that all quality related topics are properly addressed.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Quality Specialist
  • Promote quality awareness across the company and contribute to competence development of quality professionals across the Organisation related to the product categories concerned.
  • Support the Nestlé Continuous Excellence program in the quest for zero defect, including root cause analysis after incidents (or near misses) and DMAIC.
  • Support activities to achieve compliance to relevant international standards, as well as applicable Nestlé instructions and standards.
  • Assist in setting or establish specifications for finished, semi-finished products, and/or raw materials.
  • Support transfer of scientific knowledge to product development and quality.
  • Assist project managers in establishing HACCP and/or QMS and delivering other Q-related activities in the frame of development projects and preliminary Food Safety Assessments.
  • Participate in audits, gap assessments, factory commissioning and technical assistance missions in quality/food safety-related issues.
  • Seek input from factories / markets / businesses /Corporate Quality on consumer feedback, compliance issues, and incidents for the pertinent product categories.
  • Together with the businesses and relevant R&D departments, update product quality related instructions and guidelines.
  • Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends and developments in food safety and quality assurance for the pertinent products.
  • Participate to the site internal audits on the compliance to ISO 9001 and to FSSC 22000 related to the product category, and that expected results are obtained.
What will make you successful
  • University Degree or equivalent (preferred food science related)
  • Experience in successfully implementing quality assurance programs
  • Min 7 years' experience in Operations and/or R&D environment
  • Demonstrated competence in their specific field to support business requirements
  • Focus on quality and customers and able to provide solutions
  • Fluent in English, French and Spanish is a plus
