Project buyer & material planner

In order to support our Global Supply Chain & Purchasing departement, based in our offices in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, we are looking for a:


Tasks & Responsibilities:
Project Buyer
  • Responsible to support Customer project by effectively managing the Sourcing and Procurement activities related to the approved capital acquisition within budget and set targets, in line with the required start-up dates and in compliance with local laws and regulations as well as Leclanché ‘s safety and internal procurement policies and systems;
  • Execute procurement sourcing strategy plan by commodities in collaboration with the category manager;
  • Deliver to business stakeholders an execution plan recommendation with timing and sourcing strategies;
  • Implement and lead bidding strategies with pricing approaches and fit-for-project contracting models;
  • Develop sourcing dashboard/KPIs including sourcing activities milestones and cost contribution tracking;
  • Supports the establishment and availability of functional specifications with the stakeholders as base for proper sourcing assessments;
  • Manage the day-to-day business relationship with key suppliers through supporting activities including contracting, communication of demand/ volume/ delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing of end-user feedback, follow up on backorders, etc;
  • Provide the risk assessments on all fields related to sourcing (financial, technical, qualification, supply chain);
  • Evaluate cost at TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) levels through business cases and purchasing leverages;
  • Contribute to project material budget cost evaluation with the project;
  • Prevent any deviance on the project (material cost, timeline) and propose alternative solutions;
  • Develop a Supplier Relationship Management with key strategic suppliers through appropriate supplier management measures.
Material Planner
  • Manage the day-to-day procurement to ensure that products, modules, items, and services are provided appropriately and in accordance with the terms and conditions negotiated by the buyer with suppliers (source compliance);
  • Ensure procurement compliance with deadlines, specifications, standards (methodology) and quality procedures;
  • Plans shipments and receipts (complete supply chain from supplier to delivery point). Must, in an emergency context, be able to show composure and hindsight in order to best manage the imponderables (supplier failure, problem encountered with a carrier);
  • Ensure that the purchase order volume is in line with supplier capacity;
  • Ensure a good stock management based on forecast and is responsible to manage the supplier portfolio in terms of stock levels and service ratio;
  • Manage the MRP article setting in the ERP and responsible of the regular update of the ERP: supply policy (PTS, PTO), lead time, safety stock, supplier conditions, price conditions, MOQ, grouping period;
  • The material planner is the guarantor of the respect of the department quality process.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Education: Master degree in Engineering, business administration or similar.  C.P.M., CIPS will be a plus;
  • 5-7 years experience as industrial project purchaser in an international environment;
  • Good knowledge of production techniques and processes;
  • Good ERP knowledge;
  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
