Your mission


 


  • You will be involved in the execution of projects, and you will participate in the development and characterization of in vitro cancer models for various tumor indications using a novel hydrogel.

  • You will acquire a strong understanding of QGel life sciences applications by taking part in the planning and execution of activities within the company.

 


 


 


 


Yours responsibilities


 


  • Develop as well as perform molecular and histological characterization of 3D organoid models from patient samples of various tumors in QGel laboratories

  • Perform cell-based assays on organoids to test anti-cancer drug treatments.

  • Analyze data, interpret scientific results and present to supervisors, colleagues and/or third parties

  • Recommend and formulate protocols and experimental plans

  • Assist in maintaining the functionality of the laboratory

  • Assist in operational activities of the lab and follow safety protocols

 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


Your profile


 


  • University level PhD in life sciences, bioengineering, biology or biochemistry

  • Strong scientific knowledge and extensive experience (2-5 years) in cancer biology

  • Must have extensive hands-on experience in (i) organoid development from patient samples using 3D culture systems and (ii) cancer cell-based assays including downstream analysis

  • Excellent experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, reliable and disciplined in task execution

  • Ability to be hands-on and pragmatic

  • Solution oriented with the ability to critically assess project(s) and formulates ideas

  • Organized and methodical

  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to rapid change and to work as an individual and in a team environment

  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills, working knowledge of written and spoken English

 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


 


Minimum requirements


  • University level PhD in Oncology with a background in life sciences, bioengineering, biology, biochemistry

  • Extensive experience (2+ years) with primary cell culture and/or organoid methods, preferably in Oncology

  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English
