For our team in Heerbrugg, Switzerland we are looking for a personality as

Chief Scientist Optics (f/m)

The aim of this position is the implementation of technology trends in innovative concepts and the development of competitive products with the purpose of launching new, high-quality imaging products

with short "time to market", in accordance with the strategy of the industry division.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Combine market requirements with technical solutions for highly innovative product concepts
  • Implement product specification in a fully dimensioned and tolerated imaging solution
  • Check primary documentation of optical components and systems
  • Evaluate prototypes and samples from series production, cooperating in the fault elimination and in the improvement of production processes
  • Continuously improve the imaging development process
  • Observe and analyse relevant technology fields and implement feasibility studies
  • Promote internal Know-how, establish and maintain contacts with external experts
  • Create, evaluate and validate of new product ideas in early ideation phase

Requirements:

 

  • Master / PhD degree in Photonics, physics, mathematics or similar field
  • 5 years of experience in product and/or technology development in the field of imaging/ photonics. Preferably in the development of imaging optical systems.
  • Ideally experience in digital imaging, development of optical systems and/or optical manufacturing technologies
  • Working knowledge with simulation tools (CodeV, Zemax, Matlab, Maple and similar)
  • Experience in microscopy
  • Excellent knowledge in English, in word and writing
