Research Associate (Senior Scientist) in the field of Composite/Simulation as a Project Manager in Applied Research

You will lead and actively contribute to applied research projects in the competence field “structural mechanics”. Related to this is the collaboration with and management of various applied research projects in the fields of design of composite structures, simulation of the manufacturing process for fiber-reinforced components, modeling of material behavior of composite materials and machine learning. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of core competences of the institute by taking responsibility for strategic partnerships with the industry and the development/acquisition of new research projects. Project management and the support of Bachelor and Master student projects in the context of our research activities as well as the support in teaching in the mechanical engineering program with selected competences in plastics technology will complete your field of tasks.
You have a very good degree (MSc or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences or Production Engineering and have a strong flair for numerical methods and modeling as well as experience in the field of plastic processing and production of composite components. Experience with project acquisition and project management is required, experience in deep learning methods is desirable. An independent working method, good teamwork, excellent knowledge of the German (working language) and English (project-related communication) language, written and spoken, are required. You are highly motivated to face the challenges in a scientifically exciting and application-oriented environment as well as creative, initiative and open-minded.
