Function/Position objectives

Exciting opportunity to join our leading Sustainable Investment team, working with Active Ownership Coordinator, equity and fixed income portfolio managers and fundamental analysts in a stimulating, international and collaborative environment. Expansion of team due to increasing importance of active ownership activities (engagement and proxy voting) with greater market, clients and regulatory interest and enhanced reporting needs.


  • Proxy voting activities, including through identification and analysis of critical general meetings in line with BJSS AM voting policy and ESG sector analysis.
  • Exchanges with internal stakeholders on understanding and support of votes.
  • Dialogue with issuers (both directly or collaboratively) with corporate issuers on strategic ESG issues.
  • Maintenance of engagement records and contribute to RfPs, proxy voting reports for clients and annual reviews.
  • Monitoring global developments in corporate governance.
  • Update of general voting policies and tailored voting approaches.
  • Contribution to active ownership-related research and presentations and coordination of engagement activities with portfolio managers.
  • Requirement of between 5-8 years of experience in Corporate Governance analysis and/or voting activities; prior experience with company engagement & ESG research desired.
  • Strong understanding of and interest in ESG issues as well as proven track record in cooperation with investment professionals.
  • Knowledge of financial markets analysis, strong analytical and judgment skills.
  • Maturity and credibility in engaging with senior individuals at public companies.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; highly proficient in English, German and/or French preferred.
  • Organizational and time-management skills / ability to work under pressure and manage time across multiple projects/deadlines in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Team player and problem solver; highly motivated self-starter, with demonstrated history of taking initiative and finding creative solutions to complex challenges.
