Financial Controls Specialist / Manager (80-100%, 4-5 months, Hybrid)

Job description:
  • Oversee the review, development, and implementation of internal financial control processes within a finance transformation context.
  • Enhance and document the existing control framework, ensuring alignment with global governance principles and SOX-related compliance standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support control testing to validate the effectiveness of key financial processes.
  • Partner with Finance, Internal Audit, and Operational teams to drive consistency and strengthen internal control practices across the organization.
  • Contribute to ongoing process optimization, harmonization, and best-practice implementation within the financial compliance landscape.

Our client is a leading organization in the medical technology sector, currently executing a finance transformation initiative following a recent integration. The position operates within a dynamic and collaborative environment, offering the opportunity to design, enhance, and reinforce internal control frameworks in alignment with global compliance and governance standards.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Internal Controls, Financial Compliance, or Audit functions.
  • Proven knowledge of SOX or comparable internal control frameworks.
  • Background in Internal or External Audit; Big 4 experience considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle HFM, or Trintech is a plus.
  • Experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Fluent in English; German at B2 level or higher.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and structured working style.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across functions and levels.
