We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to work for a leading financial services company in Zurich.
1 X 6 month contract (*800chf+ per day)
1 X permanent position (salary negotiable)
The individual within the Senior Infrastructure Engineer role will be responsible for the operations of secure and highly available computing platforms and servers. They, install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the company operating environment. The infrastructure engineer will maintain the ongoing reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth. Individuals are also responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the data center. The Infrastructure Engineer will deploy the release of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, and related utilities and hardware. Other responsibilities will include maintaining a secure systems environment. They also provide infrastructure solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth, install new servers and maintain the infrastructure. The Infrastructure Engineer will need good communication skills and must be able to work collaboratively with clients and other technical colleagues. Individuals work across all functional areas of the company and use a strong customer service orientation to ensure that all service requests and incidents are resolved in a professional manner. They share their expertise and provide individual training and support. Infrastructure Engineers work with other technical staff and vendors to provide IT services to all company teams.
Mandatory Skills & Requirements: - Overall virtualization experience: strong VMWare background – VCP qualified, good Nutanix knowledge and some Xenserver experience. - 3+ years' experience with Linux administration (Ubuntu, Linux, RedHat). - Base Windows knowledge. - Strong technical experience and troubleshooting skills on SAN storage, 3PAR preferred. - Sound scripting/programming skills in languages such as python, perl, bash, nodejs, java, go lang, powershell. - Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, covering all infrastructure components, using tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, ELK, SCOM etc. - LDAP, authentication and PKI knowledge. - A person who is experienced with design and engineering new infrastructure solutions from scratch, based on the above infrastructure skills; not somebody from a pure support background, but will act as a 3rd line of support when needed. - Proactively work on the latest software and hardware releases ensuring support and maintenance agreements are always valid. - Practical experience of either AWS or Azure. - Knowledge of configuration management tools (one or more: saltstack, chef, puppet, ansible, Microsoft DSC). - Flexibility: Saturday, Sunday, overnight work, on-call. - Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or IT Professional certification. - Fluent English.
