Summary Job Description
The Service Engineer, will be an individual contributor in the project teams and reporting to the Service Lead. The Service Engineer is responsible for performing day to day support and Maintenance of Applications in Scope. Ensure that SLAs are strictly adhered to while finding avenues for continual Service improvement. The Service Engineer will also coordinate with the Offshore team in delivery.
o Be the technical consultant for both customer and for the CTS development/production support team - Java Technologies o Co-owning delivery o Working with various customer teams for managing delivery o Perform all adhoc asks of the customer in consultation with the Service Lead o Track Issues/Risks/dependencies and inform/follow up with customer and Cognizant stakeholders o Work with various Cognizant teams for Issue resolution o Tracking and follow-up of Sev1 and Sev2 issues till closure from the customer site
o As part of Zurich engagement we are currently looking for a Service Engineer with solid, proven Production Support management experience o Strong in JAVA , UNIX and Oracle Shell Scripts o The role requires in general mastery of Production Support environment with ITIL certification, polished communication / stakeholders management skills and strong, proven experience in an onsite/offshore model. o On the day-to-day job the Service Engineer will work closely with the onsite teams in Switzerland and offshore project team who are responsible for the offshore delivery teams. o Excellent influencing and facilitation skills, in particular problem solving/troubleshooting activities. o Ability to work effectively under pressure in a resilient and flexible manner o Is capable of becoming recognised as an expert within Cognizant and can develop this profile within the client organisation o Experience of on-site / off-shore delivery model o Understanding/certification of ITIL processes o Swiss language skills is an advantage. o Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in JAVA related technologies, Oracle and UNIX shell scripting with 2+ Years in a support engagement o Experience in Cards and Payment domain o Previous experience in complex multi-national organisation o Proven Business and IT experience ideally supported with relevant professional qualifications
