R&D Finance Manager - Group Strategic Planning & Special Projects
You will be reporting to the Head of Roche Group Planning, you will be part of a strong team of professionals delivering key insights to the CEC and other senior leaders across Roche Group. Your primary focus will involve collaborating across the Roche R&D network to develop a deep understanding of Roche’s R&D levers of value and promoting increased R&D productivity. Additionally, you will help to develop the Roche group financial target guidance and the Roche Group business plan.
The Healthcare R&D landscape is changing significantly requiring new ways to look at R&D investment and analysis. This position will Partner with Group Planning and other R&D stakeholders to develop and utilize a new R&D Model tool that you will help optimize to deliver valuable insights into Roche R&D spend and value. Projects will include portfolio scenario analysis impact to the 10-year Group Business Plan, external R&D benchmarking, and R&D productivity opportunities. As a member of the broader Group Planning Team you will also have the opportunity to be involved in and learn from the full scope of the Roche Business Plan and Target Setting. You will develop insights, communicate/present and make recommendations that improve decision making and business planning discussions.
Specific tasks will include but are not limited to:
Lead cross functional R&D related projects (Finance and Portfolio management)
Lead sections of the Business Plan
Develop deep understanding of R&D as well as the R&D Model with the goal of delivering insights, reports, and benchmarking that support decision making in our changing R&D landscape
Support the broader Business Planning Team to deliver insights and recommendations for consideration to senior management

You have an MBA, PhD or similar advanced degree in Business, Economics, Science or quantitative studies would be an advantage. You have at least 5+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry with experience in strategic analysis and planning and advanced financial modelling skills with various software packages (excel, relational databases). Furthermore, you will bring the following skills and experience:
Knowledge of the drug development process and challenges
Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., SAP, TM1, etc.)
Proven track record of success and increasing responsibility working with senior management
Excellent business mindset and agility to shift approach to meet goals with proven record of working with and contributing to high-performing teams
Experience working in a multi-cultural diverse environment
