Chief Engineer Specialty Batteries

In this challenging position, you will be the technical reference in this area and responsible for managing a team of internal engineers and third-party contractors to develop solutions that meet customer requirements for diverse applications, in particular in the AGV and microgrid sectors.

  Main responsibilities

  • Management of the internal engineering team and third-party contractors
  • Analysis of complex customer projects to identify key technical requirements leading to optimal solution design and price setting
  • Responsibility for the full engineering process of hardware and software solutions, from design to production
  • Support for applications engineers in preparing the quotes
  • Delivery of input/requirements for product and feature development roadmap related to specialty batteries
  • Close collaboration with the product development team and procurement for third party products
  • Performance of continuous technology and competitive intelligence

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in electrical or electronical engineering
  • Proven experience in designing lithium-ion batteries
  • Strong knowledge and experience in project management and systems development, particularly in robotics, medical or military sectors
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic and software concepts
  • Knowledge of CE, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and MIL-STD standards
  • Experience in managing a team of engineers (internal and external)
  • Sense of ownership for all aspects of the projects
  • Ability to listen to and understand customer’s challenges and requirements
  • Strong communication skills, customer-oriented
  • Pragmatic, solutions-driven, strong problem-solving skills, focused on results
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Ability to work in a multicultural/multinational environment
  • Negotiation skills with customers and subcontractors
  • Strong documentation and writing skills
  • Capable of handling multiple simultaneous projects
  • Business-oriented, frequent travel required to meet customers
  • Languages: French and English, German a strong asset
