Legal Counsel 100% (m/f)
Member of a team of lawyers which is responsible for all legal tasks in the area of establishment, life cycle management and liquidation of traditional and alternative collective investment schemes domiciled in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Ireland, UK, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands, as well as institutional asset management mandates, which GAM sets up for its own product brand (GAM Funds) or upon request of third parties (private label funds)
Review and drafting of the legal documents necessary for the establishment, life cycle management and liquidation of collective investment schemes domiciled in Switzerland, Luxembourg, Ireland, UK, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands
Project work in fund projects, in collaboration with internal and external initiators or clients
Elaboration and negotiation of various contractual agreements (investment management agreements, private labelling cooperation agreements, confidentiality agreements, contracts with depositories and other service providers
Correspondence with competent supervisory authorities in Switzerland and intermediary law firms in Luxembourg, Ireland and other fund domiciles
Contact point to various depositary banks and other fund service providers
Monitor and implement legal and regulatory developments related to collective investment schemes
Management and conduct of legal clarifications
Collaboration in legal specific and firm wide projects
Completed Swiss Law degree (lic.iur. / MLaw) or equivalent foreign degree, further degrees such as bar exam, LL.M. or MBA would be a plus, but is no mandatory requirement
Sound knowledge of contractual and administrative law
4+ years practical experience as in-house counsel or lawyer in financial markets law and in collective investment schemes law in various or all fund domiciles mentioned
Excellent drafting skills
Knowledge of common financial instruments would be an advantage
Excellent knowledge in German or English (business fluent in writing and spoken), knowledge in the respective other language and French would be an asset
Independent work attitude, efficiency, exactitude, fast comprehension, stress resistance
