Purpose of the Position The Downstream Process (DSP) development department is developing, transferring and validating various purification strategies and processes for a vaccine candidate. The scope of this temporary Process Engineer DSP position is to support the existing team in various areas of activities ranging from hands-on development work in the lab, to planning and report of the experimental results.
Plan, organize, perform and document experiments for the DSP development team
Contribute actively to process development and scale up activities
Execution of experimental packages, preparation of required materials (chromatographic columns, buffers, etc.), preparation of chromatography systems (Äkta Avant and Pilot)
Maintenance of technical equipment and tasks in lab organization according to 5S methodology
Supporting the team and work collaboratively with internal colleagues
Stay up to date on novel technologies related to the work area
Implementation of new techniques and technologies
Who we are looking for:
Master or Bachelor degree in Bio-Engineering / Biotechnology / Biology / Biochemistry
Practical experience in DSP process development & scale-up of biomolecules, preferably vaccines
Hands-on experience working with chromatography systems is essential
Knowledge with DoE and statistical tools for study planning and data evaluation preferred
Excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities
Team player and a personality with excellent interpersonal communication skills
Capacity to communicate fluently in English and preferably German
Experience with GMP or/and upstream processing would be an asset
