The Role
As the CFO, you'll play a pivotal role in leading the expansion of the 5 years old solid crypto asset manager and issuer of crypto structured products. In the context of a startup, broad based finance, banking and or other regulated financial services and solid crypto interest and experience would be helpful. A hands-on attitude is absolutely required in a small but well routine team as is strong teamwork. Your responsibilities include:
- Overseeing financial strategy, planning, management, and reporting, aligning them with FiCAS AG’s strategic goals.
- Leading financial analysis and forecasting, providing insights that support business decisions.
- Ensures optimum capital, liquidity, and funding; manage, investments, and fundraising initiatives to support the company's growth. Run the capital planning process for the Firm.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal control, standards, maintaining impeccable financial integrity. Maintain a performant and all-encompassing control framework. Ensure leadership over all regulatory and compliance matters and the management of operational risk.
- Fostering strong relationships with investors, external auditors, providers of outsourced services, banks, and financial institutions.
- Collaborating closely with other executive team members to drive company-wide strategies.
- Advising on financial implications of business activities and strategic initiatives.
- Supervising and ensuring adherence to regulations and standards set by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA).
- Be a change agent during times of significant business transformation and growth the Firm.
- Provide ad-hoc, monthly and quarterly financial and management reports & analysis, via Board’s committees.
Reporting Line
- Direct Reporting Line to CEO and Supervisory Line to Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Board.
Who You Are
An ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a CFO or senior financial leadership role, preferably within the alternative investment, fintech, or digital finance sectors.
- Deep understanding of financial strategy, risk control, and compliance, with a knack for navigating the complexities of the crypto finance landscape.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in financial forecasting and reporting.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of managing high-performing teams. Exceptional drive and commitment, tenacity.
- A hands-on working attitude, as required in a small team / company. Ability to work independently.
- Commercially minded; customer focused.
- Outstanding leadership skills, demonstrating ability to use initiative and effective delivery.
- Ability to highlight problems but more importantly offer creative solutions, and drive through their execution in a collective environment.
- Strong management information background, both in terms of required content, production processes and understanding what drives the numbers reported.
- Solid controls background (internal & external audit experience is ideal).
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Robust network in the financial and investment communities, with expertise in fundraising and investor relations.
- A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields, with an MBA or relevant financial certification (e.g., CPA) highly regarded.
- Fluency in German and English, embodying integrity, strategic thinking, and innovation.
