Job Description
Join us in shaping a more sustainable future From September 2025, for 6 months, become part of the Sustainability Team and help drive the implementation of our strategic roadmap across the company. Our team is formed by dedicated professionals who are passionate about sustainability, data integrity, innovative communication, and fostering SMG’s community with a strong sustainability focus.
Your Mission
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to support our Sustainability efforts at SMG group level:
• Support the end-to-end sustainability reporting process by collecting, validating, analysing, and consolidating data in line with recognised frameworks (e.g. GRI, GHG Protocol, TCFD).
• Assist in preparing sustainability disclosures, ensuring reporting accuracy and alignment with ESG reporting standards and stakeholder expectations.
• Maintain and improve our sustainability data ecosystems (and associated documentation).
• Collaborate with internal teams and data owners to track progress against KPIs and monitor reporting timelines.
• Join project management efforts to support sustainability initiatives by coordinating stakeholders, tasks, timelines, and resources to meet objectives on time.
• Draft clear, audience-tailored materials to communicate key sustainability data and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date on sustainability trends, best practices, the regulatory environment, and disclosure frameworks and standards.
• Support initiatives to increase awareness of sustainable topics among employees.
Qualifications
What will you bring to the ride?
• You have a degree in business administration, economics, sustainability management, data analytics, or a related discipline, ideally with exposure to ESG reporting, finance, or climate-related topics.
• You have a genuine interest in sustainability and are informed about evolutions in the broader sustainability/ESG landscape (both regulatory and in business).
• You have some practical experience supporting ESG reporting processes or sustainability-related data work, and are familiar with frameworks such as the GRI Standards, TCFD, and the GHG Protocol.
• You are confident working with structured data and documentation, and understand the importance of accurate, consistent, and well-supported reporting.
• You bring initiative and proactiveness when supporting collaborative tasks and help drive progress on complex topics like sustainability data and reporting processes.
• You communicate clearly across diverse audiences, follow through reliably, and help maintain alignment across different teams.
• You are a team player and enjoy collaborating with others.
• Fluent in English, German is a plus.
