For our client, a leading pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are seeking a Clinical Biomarker Strategy Lead to support biomarker strategy and translational decision?making across clinical development programs.

You will act as the biomarker expert within project teams, shaping translational strategy, driving scientific discussions, and ensuring biomarker plans are designed, implemented, and interpreted to support clinical decision-making.

Biomarker Strategy Lead
What You Will Do
- Drive biomarker strategy at the project, indication, and study level.
- Translate disease biology and mechanistic insights into actionable clinical biomarker plans.
- Lead discussions around biomarkers and diagnostics within project teams and at governance meetings.
- Collaborate with clinical study leads and biomarker experts to design fit?for?purpose biomarker solutions.
- Oversee implementation and interpretation of biomarker activities across multiple modalities (genetic, genomic, soluble, cellular, imaging, digital).
- Coordinate cross?functional biomarker efforts across research, translational data science, and clinical development.
- Represent Biomarker Development in therapeutic area committees and influence protocol development.
- Communicate biomarker findings through high?quality presentations, abstracts, and publications.
- Evaluate and champion innovative biomarker technologies supporting patient selection and program differentiation.
What You Bring
- MD, MD/PhD, or PhD with postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
- At least 5 years of industry experience in Pharma/Biotech.
- Strong scientific or clinical expertise in immunology or immune?mediated diseases.
- Proven track record in translational science and biomarker strategy in early or late clinical development.
- Experience applying biomarkers to inform clinical decisions (PD, efficacy, disease deconvolution, response characterization, stratification, precision medicine).
- Ability to interpret and communicate omics?based data (genomics, genetics, proteomics) in a clinical context.
- Demonstrated leadership in global, cross?functional, matrixed environments.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and scientific storytelling skills.
- Curiosity, innovation mindset, and comfort engaging external experts and KOLs.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German, French, or Italian is an advantage.
