Head of Procurement

We are looking for an experienced Head or Procurement who is responsible for leading and executing the company's global procurement strategy to ensure cost-effective, compliant, resilient and high-quality sourcing of materials, components, and services.

Support us in the production and development of cutting-edge medical technology solutions that enable people around the world to self-manage diabetes and other chronic diseases.

• Responsible for Procurement activities within myLife group, including Headquarter, our own manufacturing sites (Burgdorf-CH, Schwerin-DE) and our CMOs
• Personnel management and coaching of directly subordinate employees (people process)
• Planning, steering and developing the department with regard to all central topics, such as employee development, target agreement and qualification discussions, change management, motivation, planning, budget, costs, resources, etc. in cooperation with Human Resources
• Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans
• Lead supplier segmentation and strategic sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories
• Drive supplier selection, qualification, and performance management in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, FDA)
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to achieve best value and mitigate risk
• Define, implement, and track KPIs (e.g., OTIF, cost index) to drive performance and continuous improvement
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply for critical components
• Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory Affairs teams to maintain approved supplier lists and audit readiness
• Support product lifecycle management, including new product introductions and change controls
• Lead procurement digitalization initiatives (e.g., ERP optimization, e-sourcing, data analytics) to enhance decision-making and automation

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fieldFurther education in business administration, further education in leadership, comparable further education
• 10+ years of procurement/supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Experience in MedTech, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost reduction initiatives
• Strategic thinking and business acumen
• Negotiation and influencing skills
• Risk management and problem-solving
• Results-driven with strong analytical capabilities
• Fluent in English
• German language skills are nice to have
