We are looking for a proactive, entrepreneurial, and market-oriented individual to drive strategic development and expand our presence in the Swiss Biopharma and Biotech segment as:
Business Development & Sales Manager Biopharma (f/m/d) – 100%

Your Role – Key Responsibilities:
As Business Development & Sales Manager Biopharma, you will be responsible for building up IMCD’s activities in the Swiss Biopharma and Biotech sector. In this role, you will identify and engage customers, define go-to-market strategies, and work closely with internal stakeholders and international product managers. A key part of your responsibility will be to evaluate the fit between IMCD’s current Biopharma offering – covering upstream processing, downstream purification, and formulation ingredients – and the specific technological and regulatory needs of the Swiss market, thereby identifying gaps and opportunities for portfolio expansion.
The role is ideal for a self-driven individual who combines scientific understanding with commercial execution. A minimum of 60% of your time will be dedicated to active customer engagement.
Your responsibilities include:
- Strategic development and operational build-up of the Biopharma business in Switzerland
- Development of a Biopharma-specific value proposition and go-to-market approach for Switzerland
- Development of a competitive product portfolio in collaboration with Business Group Pharma
- Identification of growth areas, market needs, and relevant suppliers in the field of biologics and biotech processing, with a focus on upstream and downstream ingredients as well as formulation solutions
- Acquisition of new customers and identification of application opportunities, supporting projects from lab scale to commercial production
- Close collaboration with international product managers and internal teams to align strategic targets
- Market and competitor monitoring; reporting of business progress to key stakeholders
- Representation of IMCD at biotech and pharmaceutical trade shows, conferences and events

Your Profile – Skills & Qualifications:
We are looking for a commercially minded individual with a strong background in biopharma or biotech processes:
- Degree in biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field; additional business qualification is an advantage
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales or business development in a biotech, CDMO or biopharma setting
- Solid understanding of biotechnological production processes (e.g. fermentation, cell culture, downstream)
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build and scale a business field from an early stage
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, hands-on and structured approach with willingness to take ownership
- Familiar with CRM and MS Office tools; Salesforce experience is an asset
- Fluent in English and German (oral and written); additional languages are a plus
