Your challenge

  • Independently lead and conduct research projects in shoulder and elbow surgery
  • Design and implement studies, manage data collection and analysis, and ensure data quality
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses and contribute to machine learning-based modelling
  • Write and publish high-quality scientific papers; present at national and international conferences
  • Participate in grant writing
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians and external partners
  • Supervise students, research assistants, and study assistants
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the research group

What impresses us

  • PhD in a relevant biomedical field (e.g., clinical research, health science, epidemiology)
  • Significant record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating scientific productivity and impact.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of statistical methodology, ideally with experience managing large datasets
  • Experience with R, Stata or similar analytical software; machine learning experience is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of the clinical research process from planning through to publication
  • Familiarity with orthopaedic research; direct experience in upper extremity outcomes research is an advantage
  • Excellent English (spoken and written, especially scientific/medical English); German comprehension or willingness to learn
  • Well-developed communication and organisational skills; ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Passionate about research, with integrity and the ability to work under pressure
