JOB DESCRIPTION
The principal areas of responsibility will be to:
Plan and coordinate a complete Outdoor Education programme which take advantage of Crans-Montana’s outstanding location
Plan and support the delivery of the after-school activities programme and Wednesday afternoon activities (mountain biking, football, etc.)
Strive to continuously improve student experiences/outcomes
Be involved in the preparation and delivery of a challenging and exciting weekend programme which would include Outdoor Education experiences as well as a variety of activities which fit the ethos of the school
Work in collaboration with Houseparents to create a balanced and engaging programme
Develop and deliver, in collaboration with the sports department, a special graduating diploma involving sport
Assist the Sports department in the ski programme
Be involved in the broader life of the school
Implement cross-curricular links within the school
Communicate effectively within the local community
Essential qualifications:
International Mountain Leader award ("guide de moyenne et/ou haute montagne")
Ski qualification
First Aid certification, CPR, AED
At Least three years’ experience working in Outdoor Education
Forest School experience/experience of Outdoor Education with Junior students
Driving licence (D1 would be an advantage)
Desirable qualifications:
Teacher qualification or equivalent
Lifeguard certifications
Ability with ropes courses and belay training
Experience of working in an international school desired
Skills in using Outdoor Education to facilitate personal development
