Let's talk about the role
The role of the Head of Retail International is to provide all needed support to our Swatch Corporate Stores, Shop-in-Shop, Kiosks managed by our Brand Managers, Agents and Franchisees. The Head of Retail International supervises and coordinates the retail operations at international level to drive the subs reach the results in our stores and to achieve a high level of service for the end consumer.
Reporting to the VP Sales International, he/she works closely with the local Brand Managers, Retail Managers, and internal departments at HQ offering them service, tools, best practices and guidelines. The Head of Retail International is also responsible for the Retail Training team assuring the implementation of the training strategy In line with the business needs.
Job description
Retail Development & Design
- Monitor, review and evaluate incoming applications for store projects worldwide, in co-operation with Markets, VP Sales & Swatch Group
- Cooperate with markets for new location proposals
- Lead the Retail Environment Design team to define and deliver a specific architectural design/ direction which reflects the image of the Brand: study and propose strategies both at store level as well as urban context
- Maximize all Swatch retail services, whilst delivering P.O.S. projects within agreed timeframes, on budget and to the highest standards to meet company's targets and policies
- Write and update Corporate Store policy and procedures
- Establish a best practices platform
Retail Operations
- Monitor and support our stores worldwide
- Ensure standardized KPIs are implemented and distributed
- Set up Retail figures statistics and base to monitor retail planning - Provide advice to Retail managers and Brand Managers worldwide
- Make sure time-to-market is happening in time: uniform/merchandising implementation, shopping bags, gift boxes and other supplies
- Take into consideration the feedback coming from the Brand Managers, Agents and provide corrective actions or implement tools if required
Training
- Lead the Learning & Development Team to coordinate all L&D activities worldwide, to provide top-notch service to around 3000 employees in about 600 stores.
- Ensure the follow-up, implementation and development of the retail training strategy for our retail staff
- Develop training strategies to develop the retention within the Retail staff, proviing a career plan to our retail staff worldwide
- Coordinate the team to ensure the development of the Swatch Route 51 training concept adapting regularly all SR51 training materials, modules and guidelines regarding the business needs
Leadership
- Lead the International Retail Team at Swatch Headquarters In Switzerland
- Participate to the recruitment and support of the local retail teams of subsidiaries

Professional requirements
Skills for success
- Leadership and people management. Experience in leading multiple, cross-functional teams and retaining talent
- 10 years multi-site Retail Management experience in similar industry
- Multi-country retail experience, with significant experience of retail sales management and business development
- Strong commercial instincts with proven success in growing sales and customer satisfaction through customer interaction and operational efficiencies
- Senior level Direct To Consumer professional with a demonstrable track record of achievement in management of budgets, developing commercial relationships, team building and development, and influencing product merchandising buying / planning
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills to business partners at different levels
- A passion for growth, innovation, and the Swatch brand
Languages
In addition, you possess excellent communications skills and are fluent in English, German and/or French and/or Italian.
