Our client is a nonprofit organization (Foundation) headquartered in Basel that enables people and businesses to make smarter, less costly, and more reliable decisions about whom to do business with, while also managing a network of global partners. The foundation is supported by a Regulatory Oversight Committee, which includes public authorities from around the globe who have come together to drive transparency in global financial markets. The board members are from the world's largest economies, including those of developing nations and the EU.
The role is part-time (20 hours per week). The preferred arrangement would be half days spread across four or five days per week, ensuring a close connection with the team, though there may be some flexibility in structuring the schedule.
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented paralegal to support the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary across a range of legal, governance, and administrative matters. This is a newly created part-time role, ideal for someone who enjoys structure, precision, and responsibility while appreciating the flexibility of working from home. You will play a vital role in ensuring the organization’s legal and governance framework runs smoothly. From maintaining board records and preparing meeting materials to assisting with compliance, documentation, and coordination across international stakeholders.
Role Scope and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
- Maintain board and committee records, including minutes and statutory information.
- Support the management of corporate data and filings using Co-Sec software.
- Prepare decision templates, presentations, analyses, and reports.
- Organize board and committee meetings and take minutes.
- Assist with compliance monitoring and legal research.
- Support governance activities and documentation.
- Keep company records up-to-date and accessible.
- Ensure confidentiality and data protection at all times.
Essential Criteria | Must-haves For This Role
- You must be based in the Greater Zurich or Zug region (Basel is also possible). Occasional in-person interactions, such as meeting board members, arranging signatures, or handling official matters, will be part of the role.
- A degree in paralegal studies or a related legal field, plus several years of experience in a comparable role.
- English at a native or full professional level (C2) and German at B1/B2 level.
- High level of precision and attention to detail.
Furthermore, We'd Love To See
- Experience in a nonprofit or foundation environment would be a plus.
- Full proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of board management software, e.g., Board Effect, Diligent, Sherpany.
- Familiarity with legal procedures, corporate governance, and compliance.
