Position:
Are you passionate about driving operational excellence and leading high‑performing production teams in a cigarette manufacturing environment? For our manufacturing operations in Dagmersellen, we are looking for a motivated, hands‑on, and forward‑thinking Production Manager (m/f/d). In this varied and autonomous role, you will be fully accountable for the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of primary tobacco processing and Make/Pack cigarette production, while continuously optimizing performance across quality, cost, delivery, and people development
Responsibilities:
As the Production Manager (m/f/d) you will:
- Manage and optimize primary and Make/Pack production operations to ensure safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets are met
- Ensure full compliance with local legislation, company policies, and ISO management systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production performance and reducing waste
- Lead, motivate, and develop production teams, including manpower planning and shift organization
- Ensure products are manufactured in line with R&D specifications and quality standards
- Coordinate closely with QC, R&D, Engineering, and Maintenance on improvement and investment projects
- Oversee maintenance activities to maximize equipment efficiency and utilization
- Support efficient internal material flow and timely delivery of semi‑finished and finished products
Requirements:
- Higher Technical Education (Engineering or related field)
- 6–8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment including proven people management responsibilities
- Knowledge of primary tobacco manufacturing and Make/Pack processes is a strong asset
- Expertise in manufacturing excellence systems, such as IWS (Integrated Work Systems), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or Lean is a strong asset
- Solid skills in MS Office, experience with SAP R/3 is highly valued
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders, as well as strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Solution-oriented mindset and ability to deliver results under pressure
- Fluent in German and English
