Global Business Unit Director
Technical Desiccants & Specialty Zeolites (m/f)
In this challenging position you will hold a pivotal role in an international team, driven by a globaI market with vast opportunities for our client's high-quality chemical specialties and innovations in the area of technical desiccants and specialty zeolites. You will be responsible for the entire commercial business of your unit, including P&L responsibility and the management of your sales resources in Switzerland, the US and China, as well as distributors worldwide. At the same time you are responsible for market observation, forecasting demand as well as definition and adherence to business plans and strategies, sales goals and marketing procedures and budget. You lead a team of sales account managers located in different countries, provide oversight internally of R&D effort supporting the business and are responsible to analyse and provide the business cases to support CAPEX required to grow the business. You have to expect overall international travel activities of approximately 50% on average and will be based at the Swiss headquarters, reporting to the Global Head Molecular Sieves.
A background in chemistry or chemical engineering with a respective degree plus ideally an additional degree in marketing or an MBA together with a minimum of 10 years of experience in global industrial sales and/or sales management in a chemical manufacturing environment is required. You are a pragmatic self-starter with distinct entrepreneurial thinking, and knowledge and experience with zeolite adsorbents. You enjoy relationship building and leadership across cultural boundaries and you have excellent communication and negotiation skills in English. Any further language is of advantage. You display strong collaboration, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to be put in use when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you possess excellent presentation skills and are an experienced user of the relevant, commonly used MS software tools including SAP and SalesForce.com. You assume ownership for your areas of responsibility and have organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
