SENIOR EXPERT / MANAGER ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS 80-100% - ZÜRICH / BASEL
YOUR TASKS:
(We are looking for strong competence in a selection of these tasks; no candidate is expected to meet every point)
- Lead complex projects and independent preparation of technical and strategic analyses as well as the conception and structuring of individual workstreams
- Be a team player in developing quantitative and statistical models, deterioration and risk models, scenario-based forecasting tools and data-driven simulations. Alongside delivery frameworks for client integration and advisory
- Translate complex technical modelling and analytics into clear, decision-ready deliverables: asset management plans, strategic asset management roadmaps, investment/maintenance plans, model validation and documentation. Generating clear client value and support commercial discussions
- Support the development of our asset management software suite with client feedback integration and new features. Collaborate closely with our software engineers to define requirements and ensure effective implementation
- Implement asset management principles in large organisations and develop frameworks to ensure integration from ISO standards to results driven approaches
- Lead delivery and client management, where applicable, business development: liaising with infrastructure managers, utilities or regulators; shaping proposals and business cases; supporting growth of our service offering.
Proven experience in one or more of the below is required:
- Leadership: Manage and lead junior team members; coordinate cross-functional teams (software engineers, data scientist, asset management experts) and ensure quality of deliverables. Consulting experience and ability to present ideas comprehensively
- Business development: Support proposal preparation, identify new opportunities and contribute to positioning our asset management and digital solutions in the market. Drive the expansion of our services in the energy, rail or other critical infrastructure sectors by analysing market trends, shaping offerings and supporting implementation of our digital asset management tools.
- Product management: Manage analytical and modelling tools, defining requirements, prioritising development tasks and ensuring alignment between user needs, technical design and software implementation
- Client management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand evolving needs and represent AFRY in key discussions and workshops.
YOUR PROFILE:

- University degree in engineering, applied mathematics, data science, physics or a related discipline - or comparable proven experience. Further structured experience in asset management or technical competence is advantageous
- Several years of experience in infrastructure asset management, consulting, data modelling, or data-driven infrastructure analytics (senior-level hire expected) with experience in selling value-based services and shaping solution concepts for clients
- Ability to lead and structure technical solution development, guiding teams in building production-ready analytical models, data pipelines, simulations, forecasting tools and optimisation routines
- Strong background in statistical, stochastic, engineering and mathematical modelling. Python knowledge is advantageous.
- Consulting experience with structured approaches to analysis, communication and stakeholder management. Ability to translate technical and analytical work into structured, clear, strategic deliverables for senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Familiarity with infrastructure domains - rail, energy, utilities, or other critical infrastructure - including understanding of asset behaviour, maintenance regimes, lifecycle planning, and system components
- Understanding of or exposure to asset management frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 55000 / PAS 55), asset governance, maturity assessments, and data governance
- Business development or market-facing experience (tendering, proposal development, client interaction, stakeholder management, sales or growth-minded delivery) is a strong plus. Primarily in Energy, Rail, Critical infrastructure sectors
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages are an advantage
- Open, flexible, solution-oriented mindset; readiness to travel if required

We are a hybrid consulting/IT team focused on asset management systems, digital solutions, and infrastructure advisory. We help decision-makers develop data-driven strategies for complex infrastructure portfolios, delivering integrated solutions from asset management assessments and portfolio condition evaluations to long-term maintenance, renewal, and investment planning for resilient infrastructure. Our services also include ISO certification, and EAM/ERP system support across all 10 IAM asset management domains
A core part of our offering is an asset-management software suite, already deployed with multiple infrastructure managers across Europe, supporting condition evaluation, resilience simulations, deterioration and reliability modelling, lifecycle cost forecasting, scenario-based CAPEX/OPEX planning, backlog management, and advanced asset prioritisation.
