Under the supervision of the Director of Administration and Finance, the Head of Finance oversees and provides to the regions financial analysis, training and strategic support to the department on site in Geneva and in the regions in which we operate.

Being responsible for the overall financial regions:
Supervising the finance teams at headquarters and in the field and providing technical support on finance matters.Revising and preparing monthly reporting of projects/programmes in a timely manner in collaboration with the Accounting Dept. in order to organize the monthly closing of accounts.
Reviewing and preparing monthly budget monitoring for all projects, in coordination with the financial director.
Reviewing and contributing to preparing new programme budgets to be submitted to donors in close collaboration with the Programmes Manager, Financial controllers and the Finance director.
Preparing regular financial reports in collaboration with the Finance director/Financial controllers for internal use and for donors.
Organizing cash forecast programme/projects on a regular basis.
Ensuring the application of the financial policies in headquarters and in all field offices as well as the standards and quality standards defined by Geneva Call.
Creating and contributing to improving tools and procedures to ensure that all rules in relation to internal control are respected. Continuing to develop improvements in the finance system, as necessary .
Reporting any information from field offices that is relevant to Head of Regions and/or Directorate.
Liaising regularly with budget holders.
Providing any other financial information, as requested, and responding to any other financial queries.
Monitoring the funding situation, and preparing the funding grid at the end of each month.
Providing assistance during any audit undertaken.
Supervising the Regional Desk admin and finance work, supporting and developing field structures and providing technical support on administration matters.
Providing support to field administrative staff, and working closely with them to ensure that administrative and financial information is accurate and up to date.
Supporting the local office admin and finance staff.
Strong entrepreneurial/self-starter spirit
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a financial expert or equivalent
IT Tools (MS Office, Excel, Reporting tools)
Financial Management tools
Knowledge of internal control and process implementations
Finance Management diploma with Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
English and French fluency
Nice to have
Experience with international donors highly desirable
Experience in finance management in the field
Minimum 2 years’ operational experience in the field
Experience in an NGO
Knowledge of ERP and office tools desirable
